What is Dam

Meaning of Dam is as an obstacle built over a stream or waterway. At the back of this obstruction water is gathered framing a pool. The side on which water is gathered is called upstream side and the opposite side of the boundary is called downstream side. The pool of water which is shaped upstream is known as a Reservoir.

Employments of Dams and Reservoirs
