TRANSPOSE OF MATRIX

nTaking the transpose of a matrix is similar to that of a vector:

nThe diagonal elements in the matrix are unaffected, but the other elements are switched.  A matrix which is the same as its own transpose is called symmetric, and one which is the negative of its own transpose is called skew-symmetric.
